MBAM Hardware website error: “Data store request not completed”
I have setup an MBAM test environment. We are currently using the 3 machine MBAM topology. We also setup during MBAM installation encrypted communication between our two servers using SSL certificates. During installation there were no errors. The MBAM GPOs have been created and linked in our test OU. I have confirmed through running gpresult that client machines have received the group policy. I am receiving an error in the logs that the workstations are not communicating with the endpoint. I am also receiving an error when going to the Hardware Capability website. Before MBAM was installed on client workstations the website came up with no errors. Now I am receiving a “Data store request not completed”. I am logging into the Hardware website as a member in the Hardware Users group. Thank you for support.

I actually found my fix for this issue. I am just posting in case someone else runs into the same problem. I found out that the Administration and Monitoring web service was not able to talk to the database because the Windows Firewall was blocking communication. On the Database server where the Recovery and Hardware database is stored, in the Windows Firewall rules open inbound port 1434 for UDP. Thanks

In SQL management studio, create new log in for "Network Service" account if it does not exist. If Network Service Account exist then check: 1. In User Mapping make sure MBAM Recovery and Hardware DB is selected. 2. In Server Roles add sysadmin and public. I hope this helps. Manoj Sehgal

Ok so after many more hours of trying various things i finally found the solution. In my case i had to edit the Connection Strings on the web server by simply adding my server details, i sill dont understand why this was not automatically done during the install of MBAM. This was the default setting after the mbam webserver setup : Change it to point directly to the FQDN of your server : Do this for all three services.

Setting the connection string to point directly to the fqdn of my sql cluster along with granting the Network service account DBO rights on the MBAM Recovery and Hardware database resolved th error. there is a quick publish article for granting rights to the network service account at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2668508
